Matthew Suarez is a 2027 C/RHP/2B with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Manteca, CA who attends Manteca. Compact athletic build with some present strength. 7.77 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up side saddle, has good footwork into his throws and gains ground well, makes accurate throws, received the ball cleanly, solid overall fundamentals to continue to develop his tools around. Also worked out in the infield and showed the same solid fundamental actions, made accurate throws and changed his arm slot well. Right handed hitter, starts from an inward toe tap trigger into his stride, has a clean and well-timed swing with a line drive swing plane, showed some jump off the barrel when he was squared up. Also pitched, has a well controlled delivery with good direction down the mound. Fastball topped out at 78 mph and was mostly straight. Curveball was a good pitch for him with tight spin and good depth, also threw a promising change up. Good student.
