David Alvarez is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Woodbridge, ON who attends 10Th Grade Academy - 76. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary outifelder with a lean, athletic build and some length. Works under control with fluid actions in the outifeld. Gained momentum through ball well and employed a longer arm stroke. Carry to throws with excellent arm strength. Left-handed hitter and starts with open feet. Loads hands deep and gets lots of leverage through the zone. Serious jump off the barrel and has really strong hands. The swing is conducive to power and he showed plenty of it during his round. Also had a real strong showing on the mound. Works a simple delivery with excellent arm speed, Releases from a lower-3/4 slot. Lived consistently in the upper-80s with the fastball, creating ride up in the zone, and sink down. Changeup is his best secondary and has hard, late, diving action to it. Flashed a tight slider as well. Great student. Named to 2021 Miami Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
