Kalin Miedema is a 2030 C/MIF with a 5-5 120 lb. frame from Caledonia, MI who attends Caledonia. Young, narrow shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout and develop moving forward. Ran an 8.65 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, turned start behind the plate in drills, receives the ball out front, clean transfers, gets under the ball at release, arm strength will continue to improve with added physicality, repeats actions behind dish. Switch-hitter, begins with an open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Works to all fields and shows looseness in swing with flashes of lift at the point of contact, comfort working to the middle of the field. Similar set up from the left side, mirrored results with middle of field contact with lift, can simplify some moving parts to overall mechanical operation but handles the barrel well and repeats.
