2024 Puerto Rico National Showcases Qualifier
Fernando Jimenez is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Jayuya, PR who attends Colegio Sagrado Corazon de Jesus. Long and slender build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.36 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, easy strides through the ball, fields it cleanly, long and loose arm action, developing arm strength that should continue to improve with physical maturity. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow stance with a high hand load, pulls his front hip off hard and early, loose and long swing, best when he's lagging the barrel and hitting mid to opposite field. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a deep arm takeaway in back, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball worked in the mid 70's with some cutting action, also threw a curveball with good shape and some feel for the zone. Will continue to improve in proportion to how much stronger he can get.
