2022 California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Brandon Todd is a 2023 RHP/UT with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Serra. Long and lean high waisted build with lots of room to get stronger. Slow paced delivery with a long arm action in back, shows the ball to the hitter early, low effort mechanics he repeats well. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, has been up to 82 mph at previous PG events, works down in the zone consistently with occasional arm side running life. Showed good feel for a firm change up with fade and good command. Not consistent this outing with his curveball release, occasional 12/6 shape when on top of it. Should keep improving with additional strength and physical maturity. 7.87 runner in the sixty. Showed good athleticism working through the ball in the outfield on defense, some carry on his throws. Also played first base. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright straight stance, best contact was to the middle of the field, has some lift out front. Good student.
