Jesse Montanez is a 2026 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Taylorsville, UT who attends Taylorsville. Slender high waisted build. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.85 seconds. Primary middle infielder, moved well laterally, showed good footwork, worked through the ball with smooth hands. Still working on the arm accuracy, was clocked up to 63 mph on throws across the diamond. From the mound, throws from a three-quarter arm slot, has a full-windup delivery with drop and drive mechanics. The fastball sat 60-64 mph with arm side run, mixed in a changeup with fading actions. Threw strikes and located well. At the plate, hits from an upright slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger. Displayed a soft swing that stays long through the zone, consistently showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Good student.
