Alec Wernis is a 2028 SS/RHP, 2B, MIF, UT with a 5-6 115 lb. frame from Oakland Township, MI who attends University Of Detroit Jesuit. Young frame with lean build and time to continue adding size. Ran an 8.18 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter, narrow base with high hands and back elbow, long stride out into contact, long swing in the back, developing bat speed. Has some quickness in the hands, hit soft liners to the middle of the field consistently. Solid foundational swing to build onto. Primary shortstop, limited range to both sides, under control when fielding, solid glove work to both sides, was accurate around the bag with developing arm strength, recorded throws up to 66 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup, compact leg lift, deep inline arm path to a low three-quarters slot. Located the fastball well, has life in the zone up to 71 mph (1732 RPM). Showed some feel for two-plane slider in the low-60s (1867 RPM). Performed well in game. Excellent student.
