2025 Canes Baseball End of Summer Organizational Showcase
Kellan Spencer is a 2027 3B/RHP/OF with a 6-1 168 lb. frame from Inman, SC who attends Boiling Springs. Long and slender athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow and slightly open stance with a low hand load and an easy glide into contact, has a direct swing path and some present bat speed, ball came off the barrel well with gap to gap contact, best on pitches down in the zone, has some projection as a hitter as he continues to get stronger. 7.01 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, moves well to and through the ball, stays low fielding, some arm strength with more to come. Also worked out in the outfield with similar athletic actions and arm strength. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up from the first base side of the rubber, small side step start with high stationary hands in his turn over the rubber, full arm action to an over the top arm slot, will lean and fall off to the first base side due to his arm slot. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight with some carry up in the zone. Change up was his most effective pitch with big run and sink, also threw a 11/5 curveball. Good balance of tools and skills with plenty of physical projection remaining. Good student.
