David Ernst is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends St Xavier. Medium frame with some projection for strength and size. Ran an 8.43 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields it out front with soft hands, good feeds to second base, accurate to third, evident feel and idea for the position, made all the plays. Secondary left-handed pitcher, all stretch, high leg lift, lands in line, some cut on the fastball up to 75-mph (1853 RPM) with a curveball in the mix at 69-mph (1801 RPM), medium arm circle, high three-quarters release, filled it up on the outer half with two pitches. Left-handed hitter, high back elbow with barrel below shoulder to start, longer barrel path, upright and slightly open, leg lift trigger, some pull-side impact. Projectable size and strength. Good student.
