Jathan Spain is a 2026 RHP/1B with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Cape Girardeau, MO who attends Cape Girardeau Central. Physical look with present strength throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher, full over the head windup, belt high leg lift to balance, long arm stroke to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball sitting in the mid-80s, up to 86 mph early on in the outing, low release height and plays well up in the zone. Flashed a changeup with arm-side fading action in the mid-70s (1994 RPM) and also mixed in a slider in the low-70s with horizontal shape with spins right around 2076 RPM. Projectable with good three pitch mix. Right-handed hitter, wide base with even feet and an upright stance. Strides into contact and got the barrel extended working mostly to the pull-side with great strength. Secondary first baseman, two hand funnel with fundamental footwork around the bag. Glove gets down early and fields the ball well, solid arm strength across with accuracy, throws recorded up to 78 mph. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
