Isaiah Ruiz is a 2027 3B/RHP, 2B with a 5-5 130 lb. frame from Oak Lawn, IL who attends St. Laurence. A compact build and medium frame with a sturdy base. Ran an 8.18 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman who worked out on the infield with some energetic actions. He moved well, showing the pocket early with some quickness to his actions. He had a shorter arm action with some arm speed to it. He had a lower slot on his throws. Showed good glovework on the backhand as well. Traits to like. A right-handed hitter with an even base, the weight back, and hands away from his body. He had a shorter swing with quick hands and rotation through contact. Showed an uphill path through contact, being able to elevate the ball. Quick to contact. Traits to build off of in the batters' box. Ruiz toed the rubber, working up to 74 mph on the fastball with a big 11-5 shaped curveball in the mix as well. He gets over the top of the curveball well and creates good downhill bite. The fastball had some angle to it, occasionally showing some cut to the pitch. He had good acceleration from a three-quarters downhill angle to his throws.
