2025 PG Michigan Indoor Showcase
James Poletes is a 2027 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Okemos, MI, who attends Okemos. A medium build and bigger frame with some present strength. Higher-set waist. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who fields it off the front foot and has plenty of arm speed working through his release. He charged the ball well with energy and intent, showing good momentum and feel for his actions. Arm speed projects with throws at 87 mph shown during his round. Clean funnel that also showed on the infield during infield workouts. He throws 82 mph across the diamond with snatchy hands and a good gather working into it. He had a clean backhand, working to it well. He gets the glove down and works into it well with clean throws across, adjusting arm angles. He threw well on the run and had a confident glove. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with an even base, with high hands and a high back elbow. He had a coiled load with a shorter and quicker path, showing some jump off of it. He showed a toe-tap trigger working into it. He had bat speed presently and could impact it well, working to the middle of the field in the air. He had good strength off it with barrel speed. He stays back and then shifts onto the front foot. He worked backside and works to the middle of the field. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher with a leg lift to the belt, landing on-line and working down the slope. He had a medium arm action with a higher three-quarters arm action. The fastball worked up to 81 mph, holding 79-81 mph with spin above 2,100 RPMs. He had some life and ride on the fastballs. Athletic operation overall. Showed a curveball in the mid-60s with a developing shape. Had an 11-5 shape and depth. Showed a changeup at 70 mph with some depth to it. Excellent student. Named to 2025 Michigan Indoor TP List.
