Holden Backus is a 2027 SS/C with a 5-8 125 lb. frame from Malibu, CA who attends Oaks Christian. Recorded a 9.27 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and slender young build. Some athleticism moving around with balance and under-control movements while on the dirt. Feel for the position with good internal clock while making plays. Solid hands to gather with quick release and developing arm strength on throws across at 59 mph. Secondary catcher with side-saddle setup on throws and higher crouch. Young athlete for grade with fundamental actions at both spots while maturing into his projectable frame to add size and strength. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base and vertical bat setup in the box and moderate leg-kick trigger. Solid foundation with deeper load to impact as he gains strength with direct path through the zone. Good student.
