Gavin McPherson is a 2026 2B/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock-Cooper Liberty. Primary MIF with a medium sized frame and good athleticism. Moves well to the ball with some hop in his step. Showed good lateral range working around the ball well with a clean gather and funnel to chest. Has soft hands fielding it cleanly out front. Shorter arm action from a clean slot and was up to 81 from the infield. Also played outfield and was up to 81 from there. Profiles best on the infield. Also ran a 6.80 sixty. Left-handed hitter with a balanced base starting slightly open. High handset starting close to head with a tighter swing. Uses a small leg stride into contact and lands into a firm front side. Gets off his backside well with a level swing. Could spray liners well and profiles best as a gap-to-gap hitter with a contact-oriented approach. Excellent student.
