Jason Canady is a 2026 RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Midlothian, VA who attends Benedictine. Medium, high-waisted build with wiry levers and projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch and operated from the first base side of the rubber. Hands start at the chest and rise slightly as the leg lifts up to the chest. Separates into an inline arm path and releases the baseball from a low three-quarters slot. Creates good extension with evident whip to the arm. Opens up the front hip a bit early. Fastball showed plenty of late arm-side running life with some heaviness. Got in on right-handed hitters quickly. Filled up the zone with the heater and worked it on both sides of the plate effectively; topped it out at 87 mph. Slider showed very sharp movement on the horizontal axis with some occasional two-plane tilt; showed spin up to 2500 rpm. Tunnels it extremely well and knows how to spin it. Flashed a firm changeup in an attempt to mistime hitters. Offers plenty of upside from a physicality and velocity standpoint. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 Sunshine Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect List.
