Aidan Capone is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Rockford, IL, who attends Auburn. A medium frame with a higher set waist and an athletic build. Ran a 6.80 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who had bouncy feet, fielding it one-handed off to the side, working to it and through it with good intent. Had a very quick arm action through release. Has a quick first step with direct routes. Carried some momentum through the throws that were clocked at 94 mph from the outfield. A right-handed hitter with open feet and higher-set hands. He had quick hands through the zone with an open start, then closing up with a lower leg lift and stride through contact. It's an inward move with plenty of whip to the barrel through the zone. Had the bat speed to impact the ball well. The best contact came to the pull-side part of the cage, rotating through contact and driving the ball. Produced a 94 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher. Worked from the wind-up with a side-step into a leg lift up around the letters. Had a placement step as he worked into the leg lift. Extremely quick arm stroke working down the mound with momentum, getting good extension, and driving down the mound. Stays on-line. Throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot with whip through release. His fastball was up to 87 mph and spun up to 2,465 RPMs with arm-side life and some downhill plane to it. He attacked with a heavy fastball barrage, and it got on hitters quickly, forcing some bad swings. Very firm out of the hand. Also showed a slider up to 71 mph with some horizontal movement and slight tilt to it. He flashed a changeup at 70 mph with some depth to it as well. Missed barrels and pieced together a solid outing on the mound. Great student. Named to 2023 National Indoor (Saturday) Showcase TP List.
