Cruz Hunnicutt is a 2027 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Boiling Springs, SC who attends Boiling Springs. Lean and athletic build that is much more advanced than the typical prospect for his class, has plenty of time to add mature strength as the body will hold it. Ran a 7.74 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, squared stance, developing feel for natural segmentation and fluidity to the entire process, flashed some accurate throws down the bag with a best pop of 2,25, showed a good fundamental base to develop on down the road with some body coordination and athleticism. Left-handed hitter, wider stance, high hands and high back elbow set, hanging leg lift trigger, good handset, tendency to get loopy in the path but flashed solid pull-side contact when right, overall process improves with strength. Solid line drive knock the other way in game action as well against older competition. Projectable overall package for a '27, great frame and fundamental base present. Outstanding student.
