Stellan Zangari is a 2027 RHP/3B/MIF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Rockville Centre, NY who attends South Side. Medium, athletic frame with plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher, utilizes an abbreviated wind-up delivery from the first base side of the rubber. Lifts the leg up to the chest and breaks the hands at the chin. Separates into a longer arm path through the back-side before releasing the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Displayed smooth athletic movements with present quickness in the arm as he carried momentum down the slope. Filled up the strike zone with the fastball; showed cut and topped out at 83 mph with spin up to 2300 rpm. Slider took on a 10-4 appearance with spin up above 2500 rpm. Can manipulate the shape of the breaker and land it at will; drops the slot a bit when throwing it. Mixed in a knuckle curveball that showed big vertical break and killed tons of spin. Intriguing arm talent and pitchability. Projects for more velocity with added strength. Secondary third baseman, attacked the baseball with urgency and worked through it well. Has a good internal clock with intriguing footspeed. Funneled the ball smoothly and delivered accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 82 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a slightly open stance with a compact, high hand set-up. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing before working into a direct, slightly uphill bat path. Maintains posture over the baseball and remains balanced. Repeats his swing mechanics well. Produced several well-struck line drives to the middle of the field during his batting practice round. Showcased easy bat speed with some power potential. Posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 4.42 thirty-yard dash. Great student. Named to the 2024 New York Indoor Showcase (Sunday) Top Prospect List.
