Bennett Black is a 2027 MIF/RHP/OF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Dyersburg, TN who attends Dyer County. Smaller, lean build with developing strength and plenty of projection remaining. Primary middle-infielder, works through the baseball with choppy footwork and fields it out in front. Takes an extra step during the transfer phase, separating into a shorter arm path before releasing the ball from a low arm slot. Displayed developing athleticism and lateral range in the dirt. Delivered accurate throws across the diamond while recording arm strength up to 77 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch on the first base side of the rubber. Utilizes a lower leg lift while separating the hands at the midsection before accelerating down the slope and into a three-quarters arm angle. Tends to peel off his front-side due to limited core functionality. Fastball showed some cut and ultimately peaked at 76 mph. Showed a low-60s curveball with a developing spin profile. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider stance with a low hand set-up. Utilizes a hover trigger for timing before working into a slightly downhill bat path. Rotates the hips with intent and creates some whip to the barrel through the zone. Produced consistent contact to the middle of the field. Projects for more power with additional strength and mechanical refinement. Posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 7.54 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
