Ben Bartlett is a 2029 C/RHP/SS with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Normal, IL who attends University High School. Lean and wiry long limbed build with lots of room and time to get stronger. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. On the mound, full windup with a side step into a belt-high leg lift and some coil. Drop-and-drive look with a longer, loose arm action from a 3/4 slot, shows some whip. Fastball was 77-82 mph T82 with life and slight angle and worked mostly fastball-heavy. Breaking ball was around 70 mph with 11-5 shape and depth. Changeup was 67 mph with some tumble. Behind the plate, squared setup with on-line footwork and quick transfer, pop time was 2.00 with 70 mph arm strength, exchanges can continue to get cleaner as reps stack. Worked in the infield with a compact arm and shorter release, throws stayed low with 75 mph across. Right-handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and a short stroke, extends through contact with a slight uphill path, produced line drives and fly balls to the middle and pull side and handled the barrel well. Excellent student.
