Carlos Luis Cruz is a 2027 SS/2B with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Oviedo, FL who attends Hagerty. Primary SS with an athletic frame. Moves well laterally with quick twitch actions. Showed good range to his backhand and could make throws with strength and accuracy behind them. Has quick feet and works around the ball with a clean 2-hand gather and funnel to chest. Gets it out quick from a clean slot. Adjusts his glove well to the ball with fluid overall actions. Also played outfield and attacked the ball with intent. Moves well to the ball with quick feet and fields it cleanly out front with a one hand gather. Was accurate from the outfield and showed good athletic actions out there. Was up to 89 from the outfield and 87 from the infield. Left-handed hitter with a quick set of hands. Looks to launch more from the left side. Right-handed hitter with a more compact stance from this side. Swings with intent with twitch in the hands. Showed good rhythm in the box with a big leg raise and rock back stride into contact. Could go gap to gap with ease and impacted it hard out in front. Was better from the right side but has ability as a switch hitter. Excellent Student. Named to the 2027 All American Games TP List.
