Sawyer Benson is a 2026 OF/IF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends McKinney Boyd. Benson displayed an aggressive approach through the baseball from his primary OF spot, flashing a compact arm action to release quickly with reliable glove work. As the arm stroke and footwork refine, expect arm strength to increase. From the IF, clean glove work continued with developing footwork, ultimately topping out at 65 mph across the diamond. Offensively, the left handed hitter started from a slightly open stance with a big leg kick into weight shift that produced contact to the middle of the field. He remained short through the ball and should see power numbers improve as the barrel control becomes more consistent. Ran a 8.30 sixty yard dash.
