2024 St. Louis Uncommitted Prospect Showcase
Will Carter is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-5 210 lb. frame from Chicago, IL, who attends Whitney Young. A long and lean frame with athleticism and room to continue adding strength. Projectable build and frame moving forward. He's a right-handed pitcher who worked from the stretch for the most of his outing. He comes set with an even stance, showing a leg lift up around the belt and above with some slight coil to it. His hands move in unison with the leg as he gets to peak leg lift. He moves well with his lower half and is able to move down the slope well. He has a longer arm action, working from a higher three-quarters arm action. There's some whip to it with a clean arm action and release. He repeated the actions well. His fastball worked 84-89 mph, reaching back to grab 90 mph on the pitch. He also had some angle to the fastball, and it played in the lower half. He also showed some burst out of the hand with life through the zone. The pitch carried at times as well. He also flipped a 12-6 shaped breaking ball with good depth to it. It worked up to 75 mph with spin up above 2,500 RPMs. He also showed a real feel for a changeup, getting up to 81 mph with a spin down into the low-1500s. He mixed all three pitches and threw plenty of strikes overall. He pieced together an incredible outing. He threw 3.0 innings, with 6 punchouts, keeping the opposition off the bases.
