Garet Swartzendruber is a 2025 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Mount Vernon, IA who attends Mount Vernon. An athletic frame with a medium build and some strength present. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. A primary infielder who worked out at the position with clean footwork, moving well. He threw 74 mph across the diamond and worked through it well with a clean funnel and a good slot on his throws, adjusting as needed. He had a smoothness to his round, looking the part. He covered the ground well and made athletic plays with the feet, the glove, and his throws -- well put-together round overall. He also worked out as an outfielder, where he threw 76 mph, showing some strength to the arm. He worked to it with some momentum on his build-up and threw uphill with some arm strength showing during the round. He shuffled into his throws and kept them on a lower flight with good accuracy. A right-handed hitter who has a wider base, higher-set hands, a higher back elbow, and good turns working through it. He loads over the backside and was rotational through the swing. He had some feel for the barrel, working pretty direct through the contact. Deeper load with a feel to get to the hitting zone quickly. He was quick to launch with the ability to work pull-side showing during his round of BP swings. He could barrel the ball up well and was able to stay consistent throughout his round of BP swings. He was shorter to it and had good length through it. Great student.
