Damian Rivas is a 2029 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-11 173 lb. frame from Wahiawa, HI who attends Mililani. Medium frame with life to his actions and plenty of current strength with room to add more. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.05 seconds. Primary OF, working to the ball with deliberate timing and controlled actions moving to the ball. Works the glove out front with one hand gather into clean transfer before accelerating through a lower 3/4 arm angle. Strong accurate feeds up to 85 mph back to the bags. Reps on the IF as well, showing a good first step and playing well in his base. Well refined glove work and ample later mobility both ways. Secondary RHP, working exclusively from the stretch and using a waist high leg lift before transition. Good direction, landing in line leading the way to a high effort acceleration to release point. Worked primarily with a low-to-mid 80s fastball with emerging overall command. Also flashed a breaking ball with slurvish type action as it peaked at 70 mph. RHH working from a medium stance and well balanced pre-pitch. Aggressive handset and loads well with a bit of barrel tilt and showing nice rhythm. Strong hands and twitch to his operation, creating plenty of bat speed and strength at impact. Took a few swing to get on time but once there showed the ability to elevate with projectable power. Really intriguing overall skillset here with more to come. Named to play in the Perfect Game 14U Select Festival.
