Kayden Lucas is a 2030 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 125 lb. frame from Allyn, WA who attends Crosspoint. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.31 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows lateral range to either side, quick release, arm strength will continue to develop, makes the plays and shows comfort in changing release point, plays with bounce in step, nice foundation to build upon. Also pitched, full wind up with a side step into a belt high leg lift; worked around the zone and able to induce weak contact; fastball topped out at 73 mph with subtle running life from a lower three-quarters slot. Slurve shape to the breaker with lateral action and heavy fading life on changeup up to 64 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance in the box, loads hands back deep and carries them lower through swing. Worked on the barrel well following a simple move from launch; relaxed swing/approach, worked around the field with contact oriented approach. Good student.
