2025 PG 14U Northern California All-State Games (Invite Only)
Anthony Talavera is a 2029 1B/RHP/OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Belmont, CA who attends Carlmont. Features a medium-sized build with some athleticism present. Ran a 7.37 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed developing actions. Avg. approach to the baseball with some slow down into reception. Fields it clean but some stiff posture and at times deeper/late glove. Reshuffle/regather of feet before throws. Got off uphill throws to the bag with avg. strength that were mostly accurate. At 1B, showed more comfortable footwork, especially around the bag but still showed late glove actions and some lapses of body control. Avg. quickness in getting off throws where he showed similar arm action and strength as in the OF. At the plate, operated from an even base and used a simple move into launch with minimal moving parts to hands and lower-half. Worked the barrel on a direct barrel path with avg. bat/hand speed. Showed a more pull-side approach where he produced a good amount of quality liners into right. Consistently balanced and on-time throughout. On the mound, worked exclusively from the stretch and showed a repeatable delivery. Uses a belt high lift and works into an early push off the rubber. Works with avg. length down the mound and spins off a bit towards 1B side. Uses a shorter AA that works to a normal 3/4 slot wtth avg. armspeed. Worked the FB up to 71 that showed normal 4S shape and he attacked early in count with it. Mixed in a developing loose spun 12/6 breaker.
