Matthew Cook is a 2027 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Rio Rancho. Features a medium build with strength present. Primary righthander pitcher. Throws exclusively out of the stretch. Coils at the top of leg lift into tall and fall mechanics down the mound. Stays under control throughout delivery. Throws from a high 3/4 slot with a shorter arm action. Fastball sat 84-87 mph, topping out at 89 mph. Can create ride at the top of the zone. Paired it with a slider at 70-72 mph with some tilt. Offering has late depth when spun well. Lands it for strikes and can miss bats. Worked out on the infield. Shows a patient approach into the catchpoint. Range profiles best for a corner spot. Was accurate with throws across while creating some carry. Reached 84 mph during workouts. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a wide base stance with a simple trigger. Approach looks to work through the middle of the field. Has some intent behind the barrel. Strength allows for some impact to the pullside. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Excellent student.
