Robert Bering is a 2027 LHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. projectable frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Carlsbad HS. Started off the event clocking a 6.91 60-yard dash. A primary pitcher, secondary first baseman. Works from a tall low effort delivery on the mound, short stride out front and repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, works with about a 50/50 mix of fastballs and sliders, slider has some tilt at its lower velocity levels. A strike thrower who makes hitters swing the bat. Hits from a wider stance and glides well into contact using a toe-tap trigger mechanism. Has some strength in his swing with short hands to the ball and lift out front, has the strength to drive the ball and made consistent hard game contact. Showed nice soft hands at first base and picked the ball well on low throws. Named to the Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
