Jacob Ortinau is a 2027 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Downers Grove, IL who attends Montini Catholic. He has a medium frame with a high waist and a thin build and plenty of room to add strength. Ran the forty yard dash in 5.43 seconds. Primary outfielder that waits back on the ball and attacks with shorter steps when he goes. He fields the ball off to the side of his body and does a nice job of working through the fielding process. He has a clean transfer and throws with a longer arm action. Secondary right-handed pitcher that pitches from the middle of the rubber and uses a small side step to start his motion. He has a knee to belt leg kick that he creates torque with. He uses dip and drive back leg mechanics and pushes down the mound well. He lands in line with the plate consistently, which allows him to be around the zone with all of his pitches. He throws with a medium arm action and fires from a low 3/4 slot that allows his fastball to have some arm side run. His curveball has 12-6 shape and solid downer action for his age. He also flashed a change up with some depth. Also worked out on the infield, showing the ability to move well to both sides of his body. He threw with the same arm action here that he did in the outfield and made consistently accurate throws to the base. Right-handed hitter that start with an even base with his knees bent. He uses a small step for timing and has a rotational swing through the zone. He has a high two handed finish.
