2023 13U/14U Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Talan Borcherding is a 2027 1B/RHP/3B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend. Lanky frame with long levers and projectable size that can add lean strength. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, solid idea with the feet and working around the bag, lateral ability fits the spot well, idea with the glove out front, nice turns on throws to second, coordinated and balanced look, actions project well for the spot long term. Secondary right-handed pitcher, methodical delivery with slow paced mechanics throughout, hands start at belt and move to chest at knee lift, full windup with mid depth two piece arm action, comes through the three-quarters slot, spotted fastball well at the bottom to produce groundballs, slight sink and arm side run to it, low 60's spinner curveball in there as well. Took reps in the outfield, high energy and gamelike urgency, comes through it well, developing arm strength but showed solid actions all over. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance with leg lift trigger, compact hand set, creates some lift, contact to all fields, has an idea. Good fundamental base to build off of with a nice projectable frame.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
