Kell VanDehey is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 178 lb. frame from Lake Oswego, OR who attends Lake Oswego. Features a taller/lean build with present athleticism. Ran a 7.12 60-yd dash. At 1B, showed heavier feet but solid glove actions. Gets set into a wider fielding base early as his hands display low and out front and field it soft/clean at reception. Regather into throws where he shows a longer arm action that got off accurate throws across and to 2B on DPs with avg. strength. At the plate, sits in an open stance. Simple forward move that gets his foot down early as hands takeback slightly. Shows a short/direct path where hands stay inside the baseball well. Let the ball get deep and hit several hard low LDs through the middle of the field and RC gap. Avg. bat/hand speed for his level. Consistently balanced. On the mound, he sides steps into an upper chest knee tuck. Gets into a smaller drop in driveleg with an early push off the mound. Arm is more hand-led out the glove into a slight stab that works up to a normal 3/4 slot. Average length stride that works on-line and finishes tall. Avg. armspeed. Ran the FB up to 76 that flashed some running action. Mixed in a developing loose spun breaker in the low 60s. Also show a CH he killed some spin on which helped create depth but he also slowed his arm down on. Named to Top Prospects List.
