Jonathan Martinez is a 2026 3B/RHP, 2B, SS, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from El Paso, TX who attends Pebble Hills high school. Features a smaller athletic build with room to add size and strength. A primary infielder that had a solid defensive round using the proper footwork/glove techniques and demonstrating he could make all the required plays and throws across the diamond. Arm strength is developing currently. In the box Martinez starts in a traditional balanced stance using a to-tap-trigger mechanism. Generates good hand/bat speed and utilizes his lower half well. Used a pull approach in his BP round barrelling up a bunch of balls. Jon showed well on the mound where he features a 2-pitch mix (FB, CB) out of a 3/4 slot. Shows a fundamentally sound mechanics with a repeatable delivery. Works with a purpose, downhill, and pounds the zone with strikes. Fastball has arm side run. Threw two innings without giving up a run in the game portion. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
