Austin Burton is a 2029 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Kitchener, ON who attends . Larger, proportioned frame with long levers and plenty of projection remaining. Recorded a 8.64 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a developing catch-and-throw skill set. Displayed some arm strength by recording throws up to 67 mph from behind the dish during drills. Gains some ground out of the crouch, stays linear towards the bag and works into a three-quarters arm slot. Will continue to improve mechanical adjustments and additional strength. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift into balance and good lower half movements down the slope. Works downhill through release, has some deception and topped out at 74 mph in this look from a three-quarters arm slot. Mixed in 11-5 shaped breaking ball with some bite and depth to it, has real feel for spinning the baseball presently. Will only continue to improve with additional velocity and refinement. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and good weight shift into impact. Creates good separation into launch and has plenty of present bat speed. Middle-of-the field mostly with ability to turn over the barrel on the inner-half when necessary. Projectable, young prospect with two-way upside, named to the 2023 13U Main Event Top Prospect List.
