LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Myers is a 6-2 junior left handed pitcher from Tennessee. Myers is a savvy pitcher with good mechanics, good command and a repeatable arm action. He threw his fastball 78-81 mph in Fort Myers with good arm side run and kept the ball away from right handed hitters effectively. His 65-68 mph curveball was an effective pitch that had good break and depth at times. Myers controlled both offerings and got hitters to swing and miss frequently. We don’t have him throwing a change up but he’s the type who probably has a good one that he just didn’t bring out in a shorter showcase appearance. Myers is the type of pitcher whose pitchability and left handedness ensures that he can win with hard stuff to overpower hitters. He is also an excellent student with top of the line grades and test scores.
