Coleton Vanderploeg is a 2026 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Hudsonville, MI who attends Hudsonville. Medium frame with compact, young build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.32 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher, big step over into crossfire, extended 3/4 slot release, lengthy through the back, flashed fastball command early, worked 73-76 mph with feel for the edges and solid action, two-plane slower curveball with some sweep to it. Hits from even stance with longer stride into swing, flatter path that tends to work downhill, middle approach, consistent contact skills with developing strength. Took defensive reps in the outfield, moving well with pace, works to and through the ball, lengthy arm action though with quick release, clocked up to 78 mph on throws. Very good student.
