Rhys Torgerson is a 2029 RHP/3B/SS with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Simpsonville, SC who attends J L Mann. Medium athletic build with some well-proportioned present strength and more to come. 7.92 runner in the sixty. Primary pitcher, working from an abbreviated windup with a belt-high leg raise over the rubber, using a shorter in-line arm path into a compact 3/4’s arm slot. Filled the zone with his fastball that worked up to 82 mph and showed feel for a depthy curveball with tilt, mixing in a changeup at 68 mph to keep hitters off balance and flashing some whiffs. Also worked out in the infield where he showed a softer glove on the backhand, made accurate throws across, and displayed clean footwork with an athletic charge. In the outfield, he fielded off his back foot, showed solid arm strength, and kept throws down with improving accuracy and carry. Right-handed hitter with a medium stance, high hands set a bit tight, and a quick leg lift, creating a direct swing path with some strength when squared. Still developing timing consistency but showed projection for more with his bat speed and contact skills.
