Hoiyuen Chen is a 2028 RHP/3B with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Little Neck, NY who attends N/A. Smaller, slender frame with plenty of room to physically mature. Recorded a 7.65 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates belt high leg lift into balance with drop-and-drive lower half movements into foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 60s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 65 mph from a three-quarters slot. Strike thrower that will continue to add more velocity with additional strength and physical maturity. Flashed developing breaking ball that varied in shape and showed gradual depth to it. Secondary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork into the fielding process, a slightly deeper funnel and showed some lateral range to either side. Delivered accurate throws up to 70 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and hanging leg lift trigger. Whole field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and best impact through the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve in all facets of his game with mechanical adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
