Micah Purdom is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Franklin, TN who attends Christ Presbyterian Academy. Long and lean young build with lots of time and room to get stronger. 7.26 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has good fundamentals and worked through the ball nicely with mature footwork, arm works well and projects to get stronger. Also plays first base and was just as smooth and polished there, arm works well from different slots and is very accurate, game actions in drills at both positions. Left handed hitter, has a small knee lift load with a toe tap trigger, short pull side swing mechanics, lacks the present strength to generate real bat speed but has a good base to build from as he matures physically. Also pitched, works from a tall delivery with a short stride out front and a 3/4's arm slot, limited lower half drive to the plate. Fastball worked in the mid-70's and was thrown for strikes. Curveball was his best pitch, has feel for spin and created some 1/7 shape and depth, mixed his pitches well and was effective. It will be interesting to see him when he weighs 180 lbs, has an idea how to play and is a good athlete.
