Matthew Madewell is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Ravenscroft. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright narrow base with a low hand load, hangs his front foot as his trigger, uphill swing plane with an extended high finish, has some hand quickness and bat speed and swings hard, showed his power to the pull gap in the games. 6.99 runner, speed plays well on the bases. Primary shortstop on defense, moves well and has some athleticism, hands work well at the ball, best working into and through the ball. Took a turn on the mound, works from stretch with a small leg raise start, compact arm action in back with a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the upper 70's and mostly straight, also threw a soft curveball. Outstanding student.
