2024 EC Lumberjack's Workout Showcase
Rener Mejia is a 2030 SS/RHP, C, 2B with a 5-1 106 lb. frame from Mount Sinai, NY who attends Mount Sinai. Young, smaller frame with tons of time and room to physically mature. Recorded a 9.33 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork to move laterally and displayed a clean funnel out in front to field. Did a nice job of taking proper angles to get to the spot and produced accurate throws up to 60 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift and over head pump into balance. Repeats his delivery well and throws a ton of strikes with developing arsenal. Used both sides of the plate effectively, worked in the low-60s from a higher slot and showed some acumen for spin with 12-6 curveball for strikes. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and maturity. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even base with tight hands and an upright barrel. Middle-of-the field approach with developing bat-to-ball skills and feel for the barrel, will continue to improve with proper adjustments and additional physical maturity.
