2025 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Dominick Mendoza is a 2028 OF/IF with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Lincoln. Features a medium sized build with some present strength and athleticism. Ran a 7.14 60-yd dash. Showed quality defensive actions from both the INF and OF. In the OF, showed an average first step as feet then work direct with avg. quickness. Some slow down into reception where he fielded it flat footed and deep at times but clean. Medium arm stroke where he got off downhill throws with accuracy and above avg. strength for his level. In the INF, showed more corner type actions. Feet set up square to the baseball and show limited lateral quickness. Glove turns over a tad late but fields it out front and clean. Similiar arm action, strength, and accuracy as the OF. At the plate, operated from an even stance. Used a smaller leg lift trigger as the hands work the barrel on a flatter path through the zone. Showed a more pull side oriented approach. Demonstrated real strength and impact when he caught it out front. Some early pull off at times to the swing but showed decent timing and feel for the barrel. Named to Top Prospects List.
