Pete Cabrales is a 2027 RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends Westfield. Large, strong frame with broad shoulders and plenty of projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the first base-side of the rubber. Side-steps into a leg lift that comes up above the belt. Hands break at the belt and into an inline arm path. Takes a medium stride into footstrike before releasing the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Creates extension with the glove-side and attempts to finish over his front leg. Keeps the operation simple and repeats his lower-half movements well. Varies his release point at times. Fastball has cut and late sink to it; topped it out at 76 mph. Changeup showed early fade and killed tons of spin. Curveball displayed 12-5 movement with gradual depth and some late side-spin to it. Secondary first baseman, worked through the baseball at a deliberate pace. Showcased projectable glove actions with developing lateral range. Made decent turns while delivering accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 72 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow stance and utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger for timing. Has plenty of raw strength in the hands. Creates loud impact with the baseball when timed up. Dips the back shoulder and loses the barrel at times. Displayed developing barrel control and adjustability. Power tool should develop nicely with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.86 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
