Max McEleney is a 2008 2B/3B with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Woodrow Wilson HS. He has a average frame and a slender athletic build. McEleney is a good ballplayer with a very nice hitting approach and pretty swing. His swing actually is similar to a high school teammate's of his, Zach Wilson, who we think has one of the top right handed swings in the nation. McEleney stays inside the ball well and has a good weight transfer. He swings with timing and maintains balance throughout. He is a line drive hitter who is going to hit for average in college and has a chance to develop some gap power. McEleney would make an outstanding two-hole hitter and someday maybe a three-hole, depending on how big and strong he gets. Defensively he showed high skill level. He has good hands and reads the ball off the bat well. McEleney has a good release and plays patiently and efficiently, always under control. He has feel for the game and all he is really lacking is size.
