Pitching
- Hip high knee tuck with minimal driveleg drop. More tall-fall type. Smaller stride but showed good balance to the delivery. Works on-line, rotates fast, and lands with a decent block. Used a shorter AA out the glove that worked clean/continuous to a 3/4 slot. Pounded the zone with the fastball and mixed in a developing breaker that showed slurvy 10-4 shape.
- I would try to have some earlier backleg/hip engagement to try to get more out of a possible hinge or just drive down the mound. Also I would try to focus on maintaining armspeed and slot on the breaker.
Fielding
- OF - Slower initial approach in the OF. Fields it off to the side and a bit deep. Uses a mini crow hop post reception that doesn't really capture much momentum and hurts some quickness. I would just focus on moving faster with more urgency and setting that glove out front at reception.
- INF - Better actions at SS showing more feel for the spot. Limited quickness but got into good fielding positions with hands/glove set down early for clean reception. Set pretty good direction with feet. Present glove tap hurt some quickness but got throws over that flashed some quality carry. I would work on improving quickness here and eliminating the glove tap.
Hitting
- Simple overall swing with minimal moving parts. Smaller stride and takeback of the hands. Rotates fast and showed strong hands and lower half but had trouble getting the barrel out front and on time. It's a clean bat path with length when on-time but just wasn't on-time a lot during his round. Bat speed is there but is just late in the initiating the swing. I would suggest setting the eyes a bit more out front and set a pullside approach possibly to counteract the lateness of the swing.
