2024 Fall East Coast Workout Showcase (Friday)
Orlando Jr Calizan is a 2030 SS/3B/OF with a 5-2 105 lb. frame from Philadelphia, PA who attends LaSalle. Smaller, compact frame with plenty of time and room to fill out. Recorded a 8.08 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Showed good lateral range to either side, while funneling out in-front. Deliberateness to footwork into release, produced fairly accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 55 mph across the diamond. Secondary outfielder with similar actions throughout the fielding process. Incorporates deliberate footwork into and through the fielding process. Fields properly off his front foot and utilized a big crow-hop to generate momentum into release. Produced arm strength up to 54 mph during outfield drills. Switch-hitter that hits from an open stance with a lower hand set and leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to start the swing, stays compact with hands into launch and showcased more present bat speed and feel for the barrel from the right-side. Will continue to improve in all facets with proper mechanical adjustments and physical maturity. Great Student.
