Logan Mackin is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-0 207 lb. frame from Minooka, IL who attends Minooka Community. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength throughout. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, begins with a belt high leg lift, drop and drive mechanics through lower half coming down the mound; medium stride with some extension and sound direction towards the plate. Short and compact arm action working to a lower three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, sinks it well through the zone and consistently located it down for strikes. Horizontal sweep to the slider up to 73 mph, occasionally misses to the arm side. Straight changeup in the low 70s; mixed three pitches for strikes and shows nice foundation to build upon. Fields the ball out front in the infield, shows some quickness to actions, will continue to develop lateral mobility, compact arm action with solid arm strength across. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box, heel turn load for timing. Short and direct path to the baseball, incorporates natural strength well and can impact to the pull side when on time and on plane, gets downhill at times but shows flashes of jump.Excellent student.
