Aarya Kumar is a 2028 C/RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Stouffville, ON who attends Bill Crothers. Medium frame with plenty of room and time to add more strength. Primary catcher, sets up in a squared stance and gets out of the crouch with urgency. Gains some ground with a slightly open stride while accelerating into a higher release. Tends to rush his lower-half mechanics. Displayed developing lateral agility and arm speed. Delivered accurate throws to the bag while recording arm strength up to 66 mph with a pop-time of 2.19 sec. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with a full arm path and three-quarters release. Remains direct as he works down the slope with limited drive from the lower-half. Fastball was fairly straight and ultimately peaked at 69 mph. Mixed in a bigger curveball and a changeup that killed plenty of spin. Projects for an uptick in velocity with additional strength. Left-handed hitter, starts in an even stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing before working into a level bat path. Remains direct to the baseball and rotates his hips with intent. Repeats his operation well. Displayed developing bat speed with some consistency to the middle of the field. Projects for more power with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran an 8.57 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
