Carter Hoover is a 2028 C/2B with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Rocheport, MO who attends Hickman. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, side saddle behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front, works into a longer transfer, on line footwork coming out of crouch to help gain ground, occasionally under the ball at release, arm strength will continue to develop with added physicality. Sound fundamental footwork in the dirt, picks it out front and shows a clean funnel working into release, feel for the glove, lateral agility will keep refining, accurate throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base in the box and utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing in the box. Creates some separation in swing and does a nice job of getting hands extended, full path through the zone with a contact oriented approach. Controls the barrel through the zone, 75 mph exit velocity in testing. Excellent student.
