Wade Spencer is a 2025 C/RHP, 3B, MIF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Logan, IA who attends Creighton Preparatory. He has a good frame with a lean, athletic build with present strength and room to add more yet. Ran the 40-Yard Dash in 5.33 seconds. Primary catcher that receives from a one knee set up. He does a nice job of staying low and working towards second base. He shows a quick release and is able to get the ball out with a higher effort release. He showed a strong arm, recording a 76 mph velocity from behind the plate. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a knee above the belt leg kick with a slight hip turn that allows him to create torque. He works in line with the plate well and stays on balance throughout his motion. He has a long arm action and fires from a 3/4 slot with loose shoulder. His fastball has slight tailing action when he locates it to his arm side with late late through the zone. His slider has short horizontal break that works in the opposite direction as his fastball. He showed the ability to locate his change up and keep hitters off balance. Also features a splitter that has nice tumbling action. Also worked out on the infield, showing nice footwork and a strong arm that allows the ball to carry through the target. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wider base and uses a leg lift trigger for timing. He has a longer swing path to contact and looks to elevate the ball with his uphill swing. He allows his strength to play in his swing, recording an 85 mph exit velocity. Very good student.
